Fairy Fantasies

Let your child’s imagination soar in our magical Fairies and wizards art class! In this whimsical experience, kids will explore the enchanting world through painting, drawing, and crafting. They’ll bring to life their own mystical characters, wings, and fantasy landscapes while learning various artistic techniques. Join me for a glittering journey into a world of art and imagination – where fairies and wizards come to life!

Marvelous Matisse

Join me for a fun and creative art class inspired by the famous artist Henri Matisse! In this class, young artists will explore Matisse’s vibrant use of color, shapes, and bold patterns. Students will learn how to create their own masterpieces using collage techniques, paper cutting, painting and pastels!

The Joy of Clay Part 1

Learn to create clay cups, bowls, tiles, or sculpture. This class will start with the basics and requires no previous experience.

Landscape Pencil Drawing

During this class we will create landscape drawings of our lovely downtown Longview. Using pencil and paper we will explore and draw nature, city scenes, and our beautiful art throughout downtown.

We’ll splatter, stick, and mash up materials like pros—learning how to mix textures and let loose with our ideas. No rules, just wild creativity and big fun! Kids will create bold pieces using everything from paint to string to bubble wrap, and learn how to trust their imagination while making something original.

Graphite Portraiture

I offer portrait class that studies the basic principles of art. Namely value, perspective, and scale. I place a special focus on “drawing what you see”. This is an essential practice that can take student’s work to the next level. The goal of my class is to have fun creating together while teaching students skills that they can take with them to use throughout their future artistic endeavours.

Shape Up!: Exploring the Art of Shape-Based Drawing

In this engaging drawing class, students will discover the magic of creating complex subjects using simple shapes. Through a series of fun and interactive exercises, students will develop their observation skills, and artistic confidence.

Sew Festive! English Paper Piecing

It’s Christmas in July! Learn the hand sewing technique of English Paper Piecing (EPP), while getting a head start on Christmas. EPP is an easy-to-learn sewing method that involves stabilizing fabric pieces with paper before sewing them into intricate designs. We’ll use EPP to make two different styles of hand sewn ornaments, and everyone will receive their very own EPP kit to take home.

Please note: assorted fabrics will be available but students are welcome to bring their own fabrics. Basic sewing knowledge is helpful, but not required.

Supply fee $60 per person, includes: EEP Kit $37.50, Spool Aurifil 80wt Thread, Fiskar 5″ Fabric Scissors.
